Establish as a mixed farm over 100 years ago, Alte Mae has some very fine specimens of 'dry crops' (crops that are perennial and dont need water), over 30 almond trees, 18 olives, 3 big figs trees and 4 giant alpa robes ( Corrib trees). We also have an orange grove with 24 trees and mountains of wild herds (fennel, asparagus, rosemar, sage and lavender).
The almonds grove really stands out and defines our property, untended for 35 years, with no fertiliser the trees are very healthy, all slightly bowed with the wind. Fallow is quite a thing round here. The blossom in February was both a surprise and a delight.
